Do a search on "Bay boats" in both the freshwater and Hybrid & Striper boards. This subject has been covered repeatedly and you will several hours of good info. You need however to do a couple things first... Decide where you are going to use the boat.. how many people will be in the boat most of the time ... what other uses will the boat be used for... how much money max + 20% are you willing to spend... how far you are willing to travel to see, buy and have service performed on the boat..
Thats a good starting place anyway. There are as many opinion on Bay Boats...maybe more as people have noses ...too many to count ...and only YOURS counts. Have fun. Ron

LOL! DJ as you can see, there are a lot of people with CCs here that like the boat they are driving. It's all about compromise -- features, price, quality, etc. -- and there is no right or wrong answer. I bought my boat from Ryan Williams at Eagle Marine in Fort Worth and I'm very happy with it and the dealership.
Also, since I bought my boat, I've gotten to know Soggy (here on the TFF and a member of the TSA) at Marine Max in Arlington. Marine Max carries Sea Hunt, and I've looked at them while at Marine Max. They are a fine looking boat, for sure.
Get out to some dealerships and shop around. It's a lot of fun, no doubt.

Another good question for you to ask is "who has the best service after the sale?" That to me is more important than the brand. ------------------ Outdoor Directory

DJ, If you do decide to buy used, then be sure and call the boat's factory to find out if 1. the boat is still under a warranty, 2. what is involved in getting the warranty transferred to you, and 3. have there been any warranty claims and if so what were they and who did the repairs. Chances are that the motor will not have a warranty left on it. I found that trying to finance a used boat made the monthly cost as high as the payments on a new one ...interest rates were higher on used boats just like they are frequnetly on used cars than something new and under warranty. My Key West has a 7 year fully transferrable warranty "from the date of the sale to the original buyer" and NOT from the year model of the hull. I bought a new 2000 model in March of 2001 and March '01 is when the clock started on my warranty. Each brand is different so be sure to check it out before you buy. I noticed a new change in this last Triton catalog that I don't like as a used boat buyer...so call the factory and understand what you are about to buy completely. Good Luck Ron

Although I recently sold my motor boat, I'm getting the itch again. I'm leaning towards the Bay/Bass boats. I like the layout and I rarely used the seats when bass fishing, so I do not think I'll miss them. Here are a couple of models that I'm leaning towards... http://www.hydrofoilflatsboats.com/products.htm http://www.fastcatmarine.com/team.htm Of course I have to take into account my budget, but I like this hull design. For what it's worth... Dave

How much money would you be willing to spend. If you don't mind dropping a little extra and you have a motor in your vehicle that can pull all the glass in this boat I would check out a Parker Big Bay. Jerry Norris uses this boat on Sabine Lake and in the Gulf. It drafts 10" of water and probably is the driest and most comfortable ride on the water. It's got a pricy tag, but if you go semi-used, I think you might be able to pick one up around 17,000-20,000. check it out... http://www.sabinelakefishing.com/#aboutcapt
