A couple of weeks ago, the king mackerel were hot inshore in the Pt. A/Corpus Christi area, in some cases within reach of the jetties and consistently around the near (less than 10 mile) oil rigs. How late in the year do they usually stay inshore? The surface temps are a few degrees above the seasonal norm, so I'm wondering if it will be worth targeting them the next time I'm in the area, which will probably be around Halloween. At what water temperature do they start to move further out and southward?
