I have fished lake Arlington in the past and I caught them on lighter colored jigs!! white/yellow; green chartreuse; orange etc: this time of year in the fall they should be feeding aggressively so use a combination of colors and you should get them, they should be holding at 5 to 15 foot of water. hope you enjoy!!
!!!!!!!!!!GOD first and then fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get too hung up on color. Some light (white/chart) and some dark (black/chart) and your good to go. More important is the size. For fall I like bigger 2" rocky tops or something similar. 1/8 oz jig head w/#4 hook will be ok. Joker is also a good choice.

What the guys have told you is the way it is. But, if you learn to learn why, go on line and look up shad. We have two here in Texas that will keep you on the crappie most times. The gizzard shade and threadfin shad and look at some pictures of them and you will know what those of us who has been out here for years know.
