I think 3-5 years north Texas Texoma, Roberts, and Grapevine will be known for 5 pound Smallies. I hope you're right. Never caught one until the Open at Table Rock when I got to tangle with a 4+lber. Those things are amazing fighters, lots of fun.

That smallie was a big surprise, first she hit a baby brush hog, second she was on a big tree in 8 feet of water. I have caught a smallie on a brush hog one other time, and I have caught a small mouth on a trees with a jigs. All the rest of our bites came in less than 4 foot but you can catch 50 plus bass that are less than 10 inches long in just a few hours. Had a good time fishing out of Brads new boat. I've never caught one, but I've never fished Ray R either. What do they normally bite? Do they tend to bite moving baits more?

They seam to like these Thanks Brad, is your #1 confidence bait a crank-bait? Probably a crig or shaky head, but I do normally have 2 or 3 crankbait rods on the deck too.

I think big smallies will start to factor in on tournaments starting next year. I certainly hope so.

I caught one this spring that was 4 1/4 lbs, way up in Indian. Threw a fluke right in its mouth I think. Was a great fight and it was a chunk.
