I always imagined huge catfish sitting on the bottom of pk in 90' of water, that is until I learned about thermocline, I guess maybe during the winter months but I have dove to 90' in PK and I can't imagine much of anything wanting to live down there

That story has been told about every dam in Texas.

That story has been told about every dam in the world.

Tubes? From the generators they no longer use? Cleaning?...... roflmao

If you take this pic into photoshop and blow it up to a pixel level you will note a strange discoloration surrounding the fish. faint, but there. I think it's been shopped.

As has been said, this story has been told about every major lake within a 500 mile radius of DFW. And probably more than that. I grew up in OK and I know I've heard it about Tenkiller, Eufala, Broken Bow, Keystone, Murray and many more. Catfish the size of a man?? The size of a VW?? Here's what I know. I was an avid SCUBA diver for many, many years. I've logged 100s of dives in Lake Tenkiller which reaches depths of over 200 feet. And I have seen some HUGE flathead catfish diving in areas near the dam. But never have I seen one as big as a man. I have seen catfish that were between 4 and 5 feet long that would easily be new word records. But they don't have the mass to be considered the size of a man. Maybe a young teenager.

And if you look even closer you can see bigfoot in the background riding a black panther

I remember hearing this story the first time when I was a teen in the 1970s but about Beaver Lake in Arkansas and dams on the Akansas River.

Maybe the diver was a "little person."

Exactly, and look at the tail too. The European Wels catfish actually does reach those mythical sizes in that old story though.
And Tennessee. My dad told me that story when I was a kid. I'm over 70 now and have heard it pretty much all my life.
Me too. 70 years old and heard it all my life. Well all my life so far.

TAKE A PHOTO HOME NOT THE FISH. CATCH AND RELEASE
Set the hook first and ask questions later.

Why do you all not believe this? In the haze in the background I can just make out the shapes of the many bulldozers that were abandoned by the operators at the last minute when the lake filled.
