Alright Folks I have the Opportunity to Buy a couple of Nice used Graphs, As many of you may know my wife fishes with me, she is completely convinced that we (as in Myself and a Topo map and a $40 depth finder from walmart and my Countless hours on the water i spent learning this body of water studying the movements of the fish in it; not to mention my wife's good judgement on the water!) she is completey convinced that we dont need a Graph on our bass boat she thinks we do just fine with out them. Dont' get me wrong we Caught the [censored] out of them!!! sure we have days in the cold winter month or hot, hot dog days of summer where your just looking for 5 bites to call it a good day, but not that often. I love going out there and wearing them out cast after cast in front of these Guys with a 40K boat and 5k worth of electronics, while i m in my Little 5,000 ProCraft. then they ask me for advice at the boat ramp. so heres the Question DOES YOUR FANCY GRAPH WITH SIDE IMAGING AND DOWN SCAN AND ALL THIS OTHER [censored] THAT COULD RUN THE NASA SPACE PROGRAM. DOES IT REALLY HELP YOU CATCH MORE FISH??

If you learn how to use it, it will help you catch more fish.

You should get mixed replies....if a person has invested lots of $$ in these units, they are going to tell you yes....but the truth is that they are a tool and the user must learn how to apply them properly to really help. I do believe they will help a person learn to catch more and better fish on offshore structure. If you want to get away from the shoreline and "possibly" catch some structure fish, then give it a try. You will learn a lot about your body of water if nothing else....see things you never knew were there. There are a couple Elite bass pros who use only 5" units with no down or side imaging. The average fisherman probably won't utilize the units to their capability in order to help them catch "more" fish.

Love mine even though I don't always wack them. There's no guarantee no matter what you do or have but I wouldn't have it any other way. I fish many different lakes and they help me break them down. Just because it looks good to the naked eye doesn't mean it will produce. I'm able to see everything below me (in conjunction with the lake map) in an instant in what would take so much more time without. If I'm out in the dark I follow my GPS back to the ramp.
The biggest joy is breaking that water down, finding the fish, mark with a way point and come back and wack them right where you marked them. I think they help take out more of the guessing game and enable you to put pieces of the puzzle together faster than without. Over time this will make you more successful.

If you're a bank beater, no. You're wasting your money. I respectfully disagree, bank beaters can find a lot of use scanning docs and finding brush piles in front of the docks. To answer the ops question, no question I do catch more with my SI.

Yes. The bigger screed for my map is also nice when fishing a new lake, too. In not as intimidated by unfamiliar water. you can break down an area much faster with one than without.

If you know how to use it... With that said.. There is a lot of information, reviews, videos, etc out there now to help you shorten the learning curve and help you decide on the best unit for you.

It absolutely, without a doubt helps me and my customers catch more fish. Anything that makes you more efficient on the water gives you an advantage, which in essence, helps you catch more fish.
