Loomis no longer makes the the 6 ft glx bass rod i use. The question is can any local rod builder use a glx blank and build a rod as good as loomis. Sensitivity and weight of the rod are most important to me.
Also who builds the best rod in dfw. thanks

My website is in my signature.
Loomis has not sold blanks in a long time. Unless you have the blank yourself it would be hard to locate one for sale.Let alone the exact model. Gary now does NorthFork Composites which makes some extremely nice blanks. 6' blanks are also becoming rare to find.

I bet someone could build you one as good or better, but I also bet it will cost more than it did from G Loomis

The rod is a GLX CR722 6FT Med action, they now make 6 1/2 ft in the same rod
You mean a custom 6 ft will cost 350.00, I want that job.

Your more then welcome to come by the shop, and take a rod out to see if it fits your needs. If not no worries no pressure to buy.

Go see Ron or Jay at Reel Time Rods. They make a pretty awesome rod. Just got a T-Rig rod that I just love. I think that makes 6 of them that I have. Love em all. He makes some of the lightest and most sensitive rods you can buy and they are guaranteed for life, right there at Pope's Landing if you ever need them for any reason. I can now throw a crankbait all day with the 8 footer he just sold me and not hurt the next day. I'm old so it may not be that important to you but it lets me fish more which is well worth the extra expense to me for a custom rod. His are not much more than a Falcon or a midgrade Dobyns.

One more question, who or what brand is the best and lightest rod on the market, local or national builder.
Price does not matter.
