Thanks Skeeter....I looked up the lake but, it really didn't say yes/no. The pictures he took sure are beautiful
The dang fish sure look good size as well...
God Bless

good morning,

glad you enjoyed our part of TEXAS,,,,caddo is fantastic and beautiful....hope you get to "the cathedral"...most serene place i've ever seen....just cut the motor and sit for a while.........the cypress trees are atleast 50' and the moss is 30'...

this is not the "catherdral"

the above program mentioned is for fished weighed on the louisiana side....

my best luck is with plastics right up against the tree base with 1/32 bullet weight and weightless lizards and frogs.....

thanks again for visiting

good luck,

Stayed @ Shady Glade 2 weeks ago. Have always loved Caddo. For those on the forum that keep mentioning Caddo as a "bucket list" just go! It''s not that far. It's a perfect place to take your wife regardless of how much she does or does not enjoy fishing with you. The scenery alone is worth the trip. Running through Government Ditch is unlike traveling around any lake in Texas:

In Alligator Bayou, Mark there is a lot of stumps in that boat lane. I will get with u next time out and show u those so u can mark them as don't hit! Most main lake is fine to run and that's also where bigger fish come from

I hit a stump in the boat lane the crosses from south to north a mile or so downstream from Johnson's...I think it may be "L" but I am not sure...Sunday morning. The entire lane is 2.7 to 4 feet deep. I saw a few other boats running it, but I won't do it again.

very nice Mark and it's an awesome place to go to relax. I wish I could go more often. My mother-in-law has a cabin on the river near government ditch. Just a short boat ride to the main part of the lake. Love it there!

I sure hope everyone that fishes Caddo Lake completely drains and dries and cleans their boat, trailer, etc. before launching in any other lake because of the Salvinia infestation. It does not need to spread.

Already washed and put away. Never opened livewells or bilge while there. Should not be an issue. Plus it will be almost a week before the boat sees water again. cheers
