Ive stayed down the middle with trees around 100 yards to both sides and ive been fine. It's a scary lake if you dont know it... I've seen a few boats bang on plane. Be careful out there! Just when I think its safe to go on plane, I see another stump just below the water. All comments above should be heeded. I also use the waypoints posted by Randy Harrell. They are great for navigating the main lake.
