I broke the ceramic on the tip of my Bonehead 8 foot rod. Can someone tell me what size of tip I need to order?

Tips are sized in millimeters. There are two measurements, one for the ring size and one for the tube base. You'll have to take the broken tip off by very gently heating the tip while applying pressure with pliers to pull the tip off. Not too much heat or you will damage the integrity of the rod and have to cut some tip off. After removal, use calipers to measure the size of the rod and convert to millimeters. You can put the new tip on with ferrell cement (tip adhesive) or epoxy. Epoxy is permanent and ferrell cement requires some heat and can be removed with heat. Barlows will have rod tips.
And I'd replace with a stainless tip as ceramic tips (inserts) are prone to break.

Ed has an assortment of replacement tips and was able to fit and install a new tip on my rod here locally. His is indeed a good man.

i'm gonna say it's probably a 6 ring, 4 tube. not hard to replace at all, but may be good to buy a 4 and 4.5, and take the one that doesn't work back. you want a perfect fit.

This guy should know about tips (and least by his screen name).
