Info on Rayburn is gaurded more closely than Fort Knox. There are some great people on here that will give you some great information. There are also plenty of people on here that will tell you,"You should do your own homework".

There is probably more miss information posted about Rayburn than useful information.

Here is a Rayburn report to hopefully help. You can almost catch fish doing anything you want on Rayburn. It might not be the thing to win a tournament. However, Rayburn is a hell of a fishery. A lot of fish have been coming shallow on almost every junk fishing tactic, and there has been a lot of fish coming deep on different techniques. This is what makes Rayburn so diverse.

Was going to suggest Joe Joslin but his last report on Big Sam was back in August. Sorry

Tpw...." Water stained; 8589 degrees; 1.57' low. Black bass are good on watermelon topwaters and soft plastic worms. White bass are fair on spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Bream are good on nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait and nightcrawlers."

I'm going to just dash right out and get me some watermelon topwaters !!
Then wade right out in the middle of all three or four hundred boats fishing the oilmans !!
Thanks, Billy

There has never been 300-400 boats fish the Oilmans. They are lucky to get 150 this year. Even if they had, Rayburn is 114,00 acres. I believe that's plenty big to handle 400 boats plus the recreational fishermen/boaters.

yes 300 boats don't even make a dent only time I have seen a tournament have issues were the Mcbass tourneys it does fill up the boat ramps on that one and the community holes are pretty crowded but even with 2000 to 3000 boats the lake has a lot of open water.
