heading to Austin on oct 11-13th, Not looking for any ones honey holes, just some areas we could hit from the kayaks, thinking about lake Austin, Ladybird lake, or any areas worth our while. We will be staying in Austin near 271. southwest area. Mainly fishing for bass but we are not so good that we can always hit our target fish, so really anything.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Lady Bird is where you want to be. No power boats to worry about. Put in under I-35 and paddle left or right. Look for grass mats and structure. Take a net.

Thanks for the replies, Lady Bird is definitely on the list, Well look at Decker lake. We are planning on using plastics, including ribbit frogs. I am new to kayaking so I have not come up with my go too must have tackle. Still trying to downsize.
