What lakes are stocked with redfish and how do you target them?

There are several impoundments that have Redfish, however the only place I've caught them at is 'Fairfield Lake' by trolling deep/diver lures in 'Firetiger' color/pattern. Last time I went we had a good day with 9 reds from 6 to 9 lbs and one 7 1/2 lb black bass. however that's been about 3 years ago.

You might get a better response in the "Striper" section.
I like to fish Tradinghouse near Waco...same technique as mentioned above.

There are Reds at Braunig and Calaveras also.

Lakes Braunig and Calaveras have quite a few redfish in them as well. Look under the "South" portion of the fishing report. I have caught some at Calaveras on the "Crappie Wall". Several of us would wait for the birds to start milling over the water that we could reach (indicating that there were baitfish under them) and we threw heavy spoons. Worked them under the birds. Lot of fun.

Fish tremble at the mention of my name.

They stopped stocking reds in Lake Nasworthy in 2002. The ones that are there should be good sized now. They do have hybrids stocked there. I asked a parks guy about that and he said they wont stock both in a lake because they would compete with each other for food.
