Anybody ever fish these? Most of the stuff up that way is locked up tight (emphasis on "up tight") behind fences.

Private property. I stopped by the ranch there one day and asked if I could fish, but too much liability with the livestock there. I was denied.

Try the pond next to the softball fields next to BB Owens school. I have caught a 14 pound channel out of there. My buddy caught a 20 plus pound flathead and a 4 pound bass. Very small pond, but lots of fish.

The hardest thing about fishing is figuring out what the fish want to eat.

I checked out your pictures of the "ponds in Frisco" (Plano, actually).

Good News: Those ponds are loaded with giant fish.

Bad News: They belong to Frito-Lay and JCPenney. Not even the employees get to fish them.

Well, based on the photos I saw, I haven't seen any no fishing signs.

The Cameras might be an issue, not to mention the risk of getting labelled an industrial spy.

I got run off by two security guards when I tried fishing the small Frito Lay pond. They do have security cameras, but I didn't see where they were. I did ask them about the bigger pond/lake in back, and they were pretty emphatic that that would be trouble. You're right, Frito-Lay doesn't even let employees fish their ponds.

I can say from first hand that you can't fish in the Frito Lay ponds (because I work there). There are camera's everywhere and they will run you off. I have been working there for 24 years and that still isn't good enough. They use to have a "fishing day" once a year for the first 150 people that signed up (Frito Lay employees) and I remember catching 4-5 lb fish about 8 out of 10 casts. I must vent just a moment:

I use to know a security guard that worked up here. Back when Deion Sanders was a Cowboy, he got run out of fishing up here by security. About 3 hours later, security got a call from our president and CEO and was told to not only let him fish, he could bring a little two man boat as well! The security guard told me that he would come on the weekends and flat out kill them (some up to 10 lbs). This infuriated me because I have worked here for so long - literally saving the company millions of dollars and all he did was play football. To this day I have a small grudge against this former CEO that allowed this to happen (I believe that Deion's attorney knew our him). When I first heard this, I come within a hair of writing this man and copying human resources, but was in fear of my job.

Enough said - but yes, there are some huge cat's and bass in here, but don't try it because they will run you off with the ability to prosecute.

Did anyone read my last post above about Deion Sanders?

Just curious as to whether it would have made anyone else on the TFF mad as well?

We tried the Frito Lay ponds back in High School in the spring during spawn, and it was on for the 10 minutes we got to fish. Huge fish everywhere 2 feet off the bank and then we were surrounded by rent a pigs. I mean security. We left and came back a week later, and they took all our info and threatened to prosecute. We were young and dumb, but it was fun. About the above thats [censored] about Deion, but the only thing I can say is that he is a bass fisherman, so he's got that going for him. Maybe you should go fish his private pond / lake at his house and see how he likes it. I'm in if you go.
