Belinda & I snuck back out yesterday afternoon to have a "Lookey See" at some more southern spots  I should have known when Belinda set the hook on this one that it would "One of those Days!"   We found some more spots holding fish and catching wasn't a problem......Quality fish were few and far between   We slowly put fish over 11's in the box  Then we decided to hit the "Honey Hole" for the last stop. I didn't have great expectations as I had talked to El Rojo earlier and he had raped it already Red had watched me pull all but 1 of the crappie out of this spot a couple of days earlier When my line jumped, I thought they had missed 1, but after I set the hook and line started screaming off the reel, I knew it wasn't a crappie  It stripped line out 3 times before I got it to the surface and got a good glimpse   After that, I told Belinda I was DONE!  Beautiful ending to a nice, cooler afternoon on the water  We had 12 in the box that we gave to 3 gentlemen on a pontoon that were just putting in to go fish the bridge

So tell us how that G Rod handled that trash fish. Wasn't a problem for the 7' G-Rod, now the Tiny Lite spinning reel almost met it's match

I always wondered why those bass tourney fisherman didn't just slow down and fish for crappie- you can catch dinner AND win the tournament. I bought me a couple of those G-Rods and they are the best rods I have ever used!

Wow, if you're going to have a bass interrupt your crappie fishing, that was a nice one to do it! Did you weigh it?

Hard to tell, but that ol' green drum looks like she could be sniffing 10. I used to be a diehard bass guy until I went to the greener pasture a few years ago, but i have caught more big bass since I started crappie fishing than I did when I targeted the dang things.

Wow, if you're going to have a bass interrupt your crappie fishing, that was a nice one to do it! Did you weigh it? My good scales died at TSCC and my cheap ones were in the shop.......I'd guess she was in the 9-10lb range I have a 10.87 on the wall and she was longer but not quite as thick
