Palestine is full and getting fuller as we speak. Went from, no water under my pier to water under my boat trailer on the bank. Not really, but close. Should have enough current for a good sandbass spawn.

I got a call today that my boat was touching the water and about to float in the boat barn at the Campground. Went out and could not believe my eyes. The lake came up real fast the last few days. If it's not full it will be in a day or two.

Had to rescue a 24' pontoon that floated out of its straps yesterday in County Line Cove. The wind had it pinned against a bulkhead and the waves were pounding on it. We pulled it to the Cumberland Ridge pier and tied it. If you are missing a pontoon, call me 903-570-5735.

lazycat, that was dang nice nice of you to get out in that weather yesterday and rescue that barge. My pier was a skating rink. I think as fast as Palesine rose it caught a bunch of property owners by surprise. Nothing useful floated up to mine except TRASH!

Channel 7 news last night showed water running over the spillway. Now if all the other lakes around would do that then all those folks in dallas could waste and use up all our east texas water again this year!!!!!

Park, its definetly over. Hope the hybrids don't go over with it. There has been little to NO bird action. The water is 47 deg. and chocolate milk. The Campgrounds ramp is good to go again, BUT, no beaching the boat. The water is 1/2 way up the new retaining wall and no where to tie to the pier. Plenty of large logs floating everywhere, so next time you go it will be an adventure. I would wait until July.

Wow. What are you guys experiences with lakes coming up this fast? Is the fishing ok, or does it take awhile for them to heat up again.

Wow. What are you guys experiences with lakes coming up this fast? Is the fishing ok, or does it take awhile for them to heat up again. Went Sunday and didn't even get a bite. Was out about 2 hrs. in the afternoon. Going to have to learn the lake all over again. Where I had been fishing in 28, its now 32. Water temp 48. Notice the lack of reports on Palestine and reading other lake reports, I don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I've never had to fish a rise in lake level like we had, 4ft in a couple of days. I'm going to say it will take a while.

Lazycat-my uncle lives in Cumberland Ridge and he said the barge is still tied to the ramp. That was nice of you to tie it off-he had his boat in his slip but due to the low water, he wasn't raising it up very far..the water came so fast he found his boat also floating but it had stayed in the slip. I guess it's safe now to run over the trees that were out in front of Smith Point. He went out again a few nights ago on his dock at 5pm and caught the sandies and a few hybrids with slabs. You guys may want to swing in there if you're still on the water at 5pm. Like clock work for the last couple of weeks. The bite has been lasting about an hour and coincides with all the shad moving in for the night. They're literally within casting distance of his dock, and hugging bottom. He likes throwing a Wildeye now after watching Parkenstien and Sanbasscamp throw their sassy shad type baits-I was catching them on a small Kastmaster spoon. I caught more but he's been catching the bigger hybrids. For those of you who know Cumberland Ridge, his dock is the second one down (south I guess) from the three story mansion.(which sticks out like a sore thumb)

Fish will move toward the river on a fast rise, even if its chocolate milk - some will also move at current in front of spillway - look a little shallower right now.

rkd, isn't that up there around the pipeline? Last year you couldn't buy a fish in there till March, but I've seen January and Feb. pretty good from Cumberland into Saline. Heck now we can put in at Smith co. #2 Just lock everything down. Thanks for the tip, maybe I'll go in there and check a few spots.
