Heading to the ranch in Centerville this weekend to plant some oats for the upcoming season. The summer flooding had our land completely underwater for a couple of weeks and we have seen evidence of gar spawning all over, including our pond which now holds several nice gar. I plan on fishing the river for some nice Gator Gar however i won't be able to catch any carp before then. Should I use chicken breasts, bacon or frozen tilapia from the store? I've used all three and have had success with them but wanna know your opinions.
Thanks a lot, Cameron

Fish with corn sweet corn in that pond. I would not feel good about any of those baits. 4-8" Live or fresh sunfish would be better than those imo. There will be carp and buffalo in your pond if it flooded. You could use a cast net if it's not too nasty but br careful, gar destroy nets.
