I had to try again to find some better fish. From yesterday I tied some size #8 Adam's Kebari flies and sought to see if the larger profile of the fly had any effect on the size of the fish. I fished roughly the same areas as I did the day before and as you can see the larger fly made a huge difference. Today all my fish were from 8" to 9.75"...Not that coveted 10" mark yet but I now have very little doubt one can stumble across a very big Gill here on this lake...And yes that's my #3fly reel breaking on the first fish...A new reel has already been obtained lol. HD as always enjoy some better fish!

#8 size has been my go to for 'gills for many years. Add some rubber legs to almost any nymph pattern, especially the Prince, and they are 'gill killers everywhere they are present.
If you can't catch them on those, then they probably are not there.

Nice video...I'd have that yak in all kinds of tangles with line if I didn't have a reel on that rod!
Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!
