Good point. What's the top end speed of these newer Rangers?

I would go with the boat that has best trade or resale value. If it doesn't matter go with the one that has storage layout you like best. I was changing my batteries on my boat today and I really wish my Skeeter had the reverse opening deck like the Rangers do. So ease of maintenance if you do your own is a thought.

I would like to stay in the 20-21ft range with a Mercury 250 Pro XS. Nothing bigger or smaller.

Ranger- better resale, but more expensive and they will last a long time

Triton- more speed and easier on the pocket book.

The ride will be close but both are great boats

Im also going to be in the market for a new boat in a few months. But if you're going to keep a boat a long time I would choose ranger.

Never had either one, but I have had my eye on a ranger. They have the highest tournament payout bonuses, seem like the best durability in hull design, must be more popular for a reason, I personally think they look much nicer, and the layout is much more handy, higher re-sale value, better performance in rough water, FLW tour. just my 2 cents

06 Triton 20Xhp here. Was great friends with the original owner so I know how this boat has been the past 9 years. In that 9 years, the only thing that has broken on the boat was a retractable rod strap. This boat has been used on a weekly basis since new as well. Original pumps, switches, etc. Seats look new along with everything else on the boat. Yes, it's been well taken care of, but the the thing still looks great after all those years. With all that being said, I've rode in and drove a new 520c and it's an excellent boat as well. As with any purchase, test drive both with someone who knows how to drive one, and also take dealership into consideration as well. Can't go wrong with either choice.

I have said this before and people get tired of hearing it but after 8 years my transom went bad and Ranger gave me a brand new boat no questions asked.
