I know their has been previous topics about boat brands in the past but I have specifically narrowed my choice down to these two brands. So,please any other brands mentioned here will be ignored. I have currently owned a Triton for five years and riddin in many Rangers. My question is this.....which would be the better option if you were in the market for one? Before answering, I want a boat that is great in bad weather and big waves, pretty fast, durable, sharp looking and can handle the stress of a very rigorous tournament season. I will be going brand new from the factory. Don't plan on buying another one for at least ten or so years. Please list the model for the brand you choose. I like both boats but can't decide. Thanks in advance.

i have a 04 triton trx 19 and i love it i tournament fish out of it hard and works great for me. i fish on average 3-4 tournaments a month and have had no problems with it at all. it has a 150 merc and a 12ft talon and i top out at 59 mph at 5100 rpm's (i put a lot of [censored] in my boat) and handles waves great. if i were in the market for a new boat i would no doubt buy another triton

B. Hollinshead, the layout of it. That's what I'm looking at. What's the performance like?

There are no differences between the two that amount to anything. I guess just flip a coin.

From my experience ranger all the way. Triton is a good boat but ranger holds up a lot better in the long run. They are great in rough water.
Tight lines and god bless

When a guy narrows it down to two boats and can't decide, let price and dealer be the difference maker. I've been in both brand's 21 ft models and it would be a tough choice. For the same money, I choose Ranger.

Of those two choices, I would have to go with a Ranger as well. Very tough boats, run great in rough water. They are heavy which makes them ride better. Fit and finish is great. Better resale value. You can't go wrong with a Ranger. That being said, I have a 2012 BassCat Cougar FTD w/250 Pro XS.

If you are still undecided and don't mind a road trip, I would suggest a trip to the Ranger/Triton factory and see how each are built. Pay particular attention to the transom construction.
Another vote for Ranger here.

If you are purchasing a boat to keep for the long run. Consider Ranger and BassCat. Since a kitty is not an option, I would look at the Ranger.
