Anyone know how to switch to an external AS GPS HS? If you do dumb it down for me step by step...
I have the adapter that is required.

Connect it to the unit. THAT'S IT.
Auto Configure ON is the Default setting in the Settings/Network menu.
I use the AS GPS HS with my ONIX 10 SI NT.
I used it before with a 1198c SI Combo.
Do the proper installation testing to determine if there will be interference with the compass.
Bottom line, READ the instructions.

Thanks Metal with iron in it, high current flow like the trolling motor power cable, and magnets inside the trolling motor are a few you have to avoid. The HS is a compass. You can static test with a regular compass, but then you have to check with the outboard and/or trolling motor operating and with the trolling motor stowed if you put it on the bow. You can download the manual from the Humminbird website.

If you have the adapter cable, it's just a plug and play ordeal. I just installed two Onix on my boat and both have the AS GPS HS connected. They are working great.
