let me say that it works in texas - in other states that fly fishing is much more popular not so much.

If you are ever down here in the San Antonio area give me a shout! Love to talk fishing with fellow anglers weather I am fishing or not! thumb

I have ran into those who don't wanna even look at you. I just keep going and hope that fishing will let them find peace in their life for a few moments. Being a police officer in today's world keeps me (us) on edge around people. But when I get a rod in my hand I can relax and enjoy 99% of the people I have met. I'm always for taking break for few, sit down on a stump, and just talk with someone. Think it's what and who we are as people who fly fish. It's different to me than chunking bait, it's more of an experience from loading up to getting home. Just a thought. See yall

I love to talk at the boat ramp after Im done for the day. And woe to a "meat hunter" that starts asking about my fishing. There are in fact 2 incidents which brings out the chattiness in folks, fly rods in Texas and 10" swim baits. Folks are curious and have questions on fishing styles they are not familiar with. As far as fishing with someone out on the lake...it does not happen. On occasion maybe with my son or wife. I just don't like it.

When I'm done for the day and off the water I'll be happy to share my campfire, food, alcohol, recreational drugs, conversation, whatever, but when I'm on the water by myself there's a reason for that.

Just the way it is.

I fish in michigan several times a month I used to always try to talk to fellow anglers - if you meet them off the water great people and will share and take you fishing - if you meet them on the water forget it

You'll likely run into my father and law and me tossing out tenkara lines hunting for sunfish and small bass. Also, a Stros fan outside of Houston? Quelle surprise!

I'm one of the more reserved people that you're likely to meet in life but I'm not bothered if someone speaks to me on the water. Most of the time when I'm out of fishing I'm very focused on fishing and would rather not have a long conversation, but I'll gladly speak for a moment or two. I really appreciate how many of you fellas have acknowledged that not everyone wants to talk for a long time.

All that said, if you see someone below whitney wearing a blue/green and black buff feel free to say hello and introduce yourself. Just let me get back to fishing before to long haha!
