At what point does a water craft have to have TX numbers. Length? Motor size?
Thanks in advance

I believe that any vessel that utilizes any type of motor, electric or outboard, is required to have a TX number.....regardless of size

As an aside, it staight when on Texas Public Water. So if you were going to be on private ponds or the likes, you wouldn't need to register it and get TX numbers. Unfortunately, I have heard that most places (BPS, Academy, etc) will not sell you a 14' boat without registering it to cover their rears. A friend of mine was trying to buy a john boat at BPS and they wanted hime to pay to get TX numbers, etc, even though he had private ponds he was going to use it on.
