A friend of mine and I went to do a little jug lining for Cats and we were headed to look for the jugs, we noticed the watering "boiling" WE started casting and low and behold the sandies we feeding big time. We sat there and casted for probably close to an hour closing in on what would be a limit per person they went down and moved on. All in all it was a great day, not to mention all those but we were able to land some nice cats.
Man i love fishing!

Put in at Murrell Park highwater ramp. Free. Take very short trip to mouth of Twin Coves. Once at the mouth, troll a 1/2 ounce rattletrap parallel to the rocky bank (will be on your left) as you go from mouth of cove towards the big marina/boat slips. Stay about 50 yards out from the shoreline. Once you get to the boat slips, reel in fish, turn around and repeat going back towards the main lake. Better yet, don't use a rattle trap and troll with a hellpet if you have one. Tons of sandbass in the channel along that rocky shoreline. Suspended which is why trolling works better than slabbing.

Thank you very much. Thats actually where i used to troll the old hell bender with a 2 oz jig 30 yrs ago and catch 8-10 lb hybrids on that same channel. Thx again, wasnt sure if Murrell was open yet and really didn't want to try and take the flatbottom across from Dove.

Is there a lot of parking at the Murrell Park Boat ramp? I've never been to that ramp.

Depends on what you consider "a lot". I'm guessing enough room for 20+ trucks/trailers with some single car parking as well. Just ask for instructions at the entrance gate.
