Was out last night drowning some minnows, and had what I first thought was a UFO sighting. A series of lights ascended over the dam, probably 8-10 at first. They gained altitude at equal rates, one after the other, then they maxed out and began drifting out over the lake at the NE corner of the dam. One by one they went out in the order which they ascended.
I got a video of them, but can't get them off my phone onto this PC for some reason. I assume they were candles or something suspended from balloons. They either reached an altitude where they could no longer climb, or the oxygen got so thing the flames could no longer burn. Either way, it was kind of a trip at first.
Next, I was on my way back to Holiday about midnight, and get hailed by someone flashing their spot light at me. I stopped when the boat got close, and killed the engine. 3 latin fellas in a smaller vee hull tiller drive pull up and ask me where Sky Point Marina was. I've never heard of Sky Point, did a search on google maps and navionics apps on my phone, nothing came up. Zoomed way out on my boat's GPS and couldn't find it on there either. I point to Holiday and tell them it's there, and probably the safest place to hold up for the night or ask someone else. They dismissed that, then asked where the dam was. I kinda laughed and pointed at the spillway lights. Then they asked where 2mile bridge was, I pointed in that direction. They then assumed their marina was somewhere to the right of 2mile, and said they would head out that way. I asked how much fuel they had, about 2 gallons I was told. The fella running the boat beat around the bush about me giving him some fuel, but my boat being a four stroke, and his a 2 stroke, meant I couldn't be of much help even if I could have gotten any out of my built in tank. I again recommended they follow me into Holiday to be safe, then decide their next move. Again, that idea was dismissed, and last I saw they were headed out toward Sun Point. I did warned them of the forest and told them to be careful. Hope they made it off the water safe.
But it was a decent night of fishing. Managed about a limit of sandies and few hybrids before the fishing slacked off around midnight. Was a great night to be one the water, as long as you knew where you were and had plenty of fuel.

Fished two mile bridge Saturday night and couldn't buy a bite! Wind picked up a little rough for my small Jon boat so we headed back in bout 11. Sounds like most of the action is over by the dam/holiday area. Gotta catch me a calm day and try over there

I don't know what it is about a lake that impairs judgment. I've seen some crazy stuff over the years on the water myself.
