So I found this huge-ish pond near me, and nobody goes fishing there very much, but I know there's bass in it because one time I saw these two guys catch some smallies and largemouths, plus when I'm castnetting for shad (catfishing bait) I often net some baby bass. I know the pond is very healthy as there is a wide variety of wildlife surrounding it, and I've caught huge catfish from it. The thing is, the bass are either under a lot of pressure compared to another pond I fish in...or they have different diets. What I mean by that is, when I fish this one pond in my neighborhood, which I'm sure I'm the only one who fishes it, I always catch bass any time of the day, any time of the year, on anything, including hotdogs. Is it just because they are starving? So what I'm asking is if anyone knows of some attention getting/irresistible softbait colors for early fall/late summer to get reaction strikes? I use every type of softbait, but I'm new to tubes.

Try a swimbait. Slow roll it.

Or a fluke. Again, fish it slooooooow

Sounds like the pond is full of forage, which is a good thing. Should be some quality fish in there. I have a couple spots that are just like this.. I can only catch them on certain colors during each season. But the bass are huge

Funny thing about colors and soft plastics is I will usually go with more "natural or subtle" colors like watermelon reds, plums or even simply black. But when I get no response sometimes an exact opposite approach works: bright colors like a chartreuse or bubblegum pink. I would try a weightless fluke, tornado or LFT rattlesnake. "Twitch, twitch, pause...." with the pause being as long as you can stand. Use a heavy enough EWG superline hook(4/0) to give the bait enough weight to sink/flutter down slowly on the pause.

Do you recommend a pre rigged swimbait? I've considered an Alabama Rig/Umbrella Rig for this pond, would it work in this situation?

Obviously the big question is where is this pond!? Laughs and good fishing...
