I rented a cabin for a few days this weekend, just west of Tyler and was wondering if anyone knows of some good spots to hit while I'm there? I'd rather not go to a big lake and I'm not bringing the kayak. My girlfriend will be with me, so I'm looking for easy access, wading and some bluegill and bass. Any ideas?

Try Tyler State Park - it has a nice little lake with some fishing piers. Also Lakes Tyler east and west. Good luck!

Neches River below Lake Palestine dam. Plenty of access points and a fantastic wading/flyfishing experiance. Water is clear and full of sunfish and bass.

Great, thanks! Do you know where the best spot to access the river is?
