I am thinking about letting the Champ go - is it a bad time or are we still in boat buying season? May way til spring.

Probably not a bad time but Feb-March is the best time.

If you have your boat priced correctly for the age/shape it is in, then I don't think its ever a bad time of year to sell/buy one in this part of the country.

I've sold two boats on here. There are guys on here that look every day for just the right boat that they are wanting to buy.
If you have that right boat with the price low enough some one will snap it up.

From start of school until early Feb. will be the worst time to try to sell.

So yes it not the best time to sell in this period.....

Sales can be slower in the late summer through the mid to late winter but you might still sell it in a day if the right buyer happens to be looking where you post it. Late winter through the spring is usually the best time to sell because more are looking and excited about fishing again. The rest of the year the buyer tends to get better deals. The two boats I have purchased were purchased in late summer and both sellers came off of their asking price a bit because they were tired of waiting on it to sell.

That has been my observation anyway. I enjoy following the boat markets, for some reason, and it appears that around here late summer/fall is the time to buy, late winter/spring is the time to sell.

I've been looking at boats for three months now. Haven't found what I want for the right price yet. So, yeh... Folks are always looking.

Yeah, this isn't the kind of boat you mark down. This is a needle in a haystack and I want real money for it. Not going to give it away. Champions have a following so that helps. I may throw it out there and see what happens.

Champions do have a loyal following. No doubt about it. The pic in your siggy ain't a Champ tho...

I'm the same have my financing and down payment ready just looking for the right boat, I honestly don't care if it's 105 or 25 degrees out if I find the right boat I will buy it.

I will be ready come Jan-Feb, already started looking to see year model and average prices for my budget.
