I ordered some ABEC 7 chinese bearings and Bocas to compare. I got 10 chinese bearings and 4 bocas for the same price. Wise buy! There are no bearing manufactures in USA, ABEC 7 are just that, regardless who you buy them from. BTW-why does anyone need bearings that can spin 10K+ in a fishing reel? Manufactures go to great extent to slow down spool spin. ABEC 3s are more than smooth/fast enough.. I believe most people hailing Boca bearings are just feeling the difference between worn bearings and new bearings. A while back I had a guy tell me there were no bearings made in the USA did a little checking National Precision Bearing is one company and MI Bearings is another. I didn't check if they made bearings that would work in reels but there are some bearings made here.

Thier site states National makes bearings for defense, medical, aerospace ( no retail sales) and MI does automotive bearings (wheel, tie rod, etc). Know of any that make smal bearings to be used in reels? I don't...

I wish there was a place local to buy. Southwest Parts and Service carries only stock replacements.

$6.39 per ABEC 7 bearing. Stock Abu bearings are much more than that. bearings
