Maybe this belongs in the lure building section, not sure.
Treble hooks can be relatively cheap to stupid expensive. What brand do you guys use to replace hooks on cranks of various types? What size? Short/long/normal shank? Etc etc.
thanks for the tips

I like using KVD 2X Short Elite and Owner Stinger (ST 2X) Treble Hooks.

That is a very hard question to answer because it depends on the baits hoestly and how the fish are eating the bait. If they are really choking the bait I like having a kvd style hook to really get them pinned, but if they are slapping at the bait a more traditional round bend is more likely to hook the fish. I use several different brands, sizes and styles, but if your looking to just buy a couple that can be versitil then get a #4 round bend 2x strong short shank and a #2 round bend 2x strong short shank.

I agree with the above, but I use VMC round bends. Really stout hook, but I have used most of them and they are all good, up to a point. I dislike the old Mustad triple grips, because they point inward and I have missed several 7-8 lb fish on them because they wouldn't penetrate. But, that is no longer a problem. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Stick with the size the lure came with as well. I've tried to over size a few times and it seem to totally kill the lure's effectiveness when I did this.......

round bends hook better, triple grips hold better. I use a round up front and the tg in the back.
