I was pretty frustrated at this point of the day and wouldn't have normally done this. I normally would go to the lure but I was fishing from the opposite side of a sand bar. I was in 1 foot of water casting into 12' of water.
Oh well it happens I'll accept it

you kind of sound like Napoleon Dynamite i was thinking the same thing. Too bad on the rod but I saw it coming with your hand creating that leverage on the rod. Get you some big shades, a blonde Afro and a Vote For Pedro T shirt for your next vid. That would be awesome!

It did seem to break a bit easier than I'd expect.
But, it didn't help when you put the heel of your left hand up on the mid-length of the rod. It turned that point into a fulcrum.
The only analogy I can think of is how one might break a large branch or stick by bending it across your flexed knee to snap it. Instead of the pressure coming from one end, it suddenly gets doubled and focused on the fulcrum . . . from two levered ends. You inadvertently loaded up two pressures on the rod in a very concentrated area. Pop.
Still, I'm either a bit unimpressed with the rod, or super-impressed by your physical strength!

exactly. The hand on the rod is what ultimately did the trick. It doesn't need your help. That being said, I've broke a Carrot Stick pulling on a stump. I'm assuming it was stepped on at some point on the deck and it finally just gave way. Will that and... Carrot Stick.

I appreciate it and I will do what I can on not breaking anything else but apparently I have been pretty good at it lately. I like your video's. I know that you were expecting to get some flack out of posting this and you are taking it in stride. Keep up the good work, but don't break anything else
