Had another good day on Grapevine. Caught 50 SB and 1 Big ol Crappie. Was off of the lake by 12:00. No need to get out there too early since we didn't start hitting them until about 8:30 unless you don't want to pay the $20 to put in at Silver Lake. Cant wait for another ramp to open.

BTW, how do u avoid the $20 at SL?
I called them on Friday and they said if you launch early before they open just drop the $20 in an envelope with your name and car info in the drop box.
They told me the $20 fee is not for launching but for using their marina or just parking ur car there, once paid they considered u can launch for free.

My wife and I did pretty well out there a couple of weeks back. We want to go back, but we're on kayaks, so we can't run all over the lake looking for them.

It is hard to get motivated to pay $20 to put in kayaks and possibly be near the fish.

Update from SL Marina.
I went there on Sat but got skunked on sandies, only some small largemouths.

Marina Office said their drop box is under water right now, it's where you launch your boat.
Until they fix it, it's free if you launch early before office opens (~10am).
During open hrs, they have a blue tent at the main entrance and that's where the worker collects $20 for any incoming vehicle into the Marina, launch or not.

$20 to launch!? Highway robbery. I'll go to a different lake before I pay that.

I'm a marina member at TC and to launch and park at SL is free for members. I'll trade parking and launch for a boat ride to go catch some fish. Since we have a runabout, fishing is a challenge from our boat.

Dove road ramp is open. I was at Grapevine Tuesday only place to find Sandie's was at the dam.
