I think the responses here are a bit harsh. He didn't steal the rods, and as a consumer it's not his obligation to verify prices on the items he purchases. I would venture to say everyone here has purchased something mis priced at some point in time whether you realized it or not. On top of that, academy is famous for marking rods down stupid cheap occasionally. I've even seen other people here post about it. No reason to call a mans integrity into play because he paid the price an item rang up for.

I've bought All-star Nano rods there that were marked down to $9.99. Ease up.

All these responses referring to the integrity of the op are nonsense. Some of the most self righteous bs I have ever read in my life. I would bet that if the op put them in classified for 40 bucks each knowing this story some of you would be wanting to buy them.

You know that's the wrong price. Even if it's on them for the mistake, you just verified to everyone the type of man you are. Bingo You know that's the wrong price. Even if it's on them for the mistake, you just verified to everyone the type of man you are. Right You know that's the wrong price. Even if it's on them for the mistake, you just verified to everyone the type of man you are. I agree And this shows what kind of guys y'all are. Too dam up tight for me, come down off the thrones sometime and visit with us peasants. Not the customers responsibility to be sure the price is right and who knows that price could have been right.

Academy does this on purpose from time to time on different items. It does wonders for getting people in the door. It happens in all the departments. It's a sales tactic, that's all.

No reason to call a mans integrity into play because he paid the price an item rang up for. No [censored]!!! He didn't steal the damn things. He paid academy's "asking price". Having worked for a big chain before, I bet the price was not isolated to this store. I know the sku's are sent into the computer system and pricing is handled on a corporate level. Nobody did anything dis honest here. He has nothing to be ashamed of. I once bought some Zoom lizards for 25cents a bag. When they rang up 25 cents, I went back and filled a basket full of every one they had. No, I didn't need 100+ bags of lizards, but getting them at that price, I couldn't resist. Also bought 100's of packs of Mustad grip pin EWG hooks one day for 10 cents ea. lol. I asked employees about the pricing. Their response was if that's what it rings up, then that's the price. They can't change it lower or higher. Lol
