I don't believe there's a set schedule on when they pump in water it's as needed to cool lake, I could be wrong

They do it to cool the lake? It just thought it was to keep the lake level at a constant level.

It has dual purpose to fill and to cool, I work for the distribution side of AEP and we maintain the line that powers the pumps at LOP I have been told it has a lot to do with cooling water at welsh down for plant to operate properly.
