I was at Fork the other day and saw some guys trying to launch their bass boat. The transom was in about 2" of water and the engine was tilted out of the water. They were cranking the engine trying to use it to reverse themselves, with no prop in the water. The driver then began trying to push the boat off the trailer and into the water. Finally they decided that they need to back the boat in the water to launch it. I didn't check but maybe they saw slime on the ramp. LOL. Marinas should instal video cameras at the dock then sell the footage for laughs.

Neutral once on the ramp is a great tip when backing and having window/s down even when cold or raining

Almost did the same thing with a dodge many years ago on lake Austin. The gear shift indicator was one slot off so when I thought I was in drive I actually was in neutral. Had to part with a 6 pack to get a college kid to pull us out with his jeep.

"So are they trash if this happens?"

The Correct Answer is No!!!! Find your favorite brother-in-law, (you know, the one that owes you money), and make him a great deal on it.

i believe it! after putting the boat on the trailer at fork last year, the tires just spun and the truck started to slide down the ramp! had to get 5 guys to push on my tailgate to get up the ramp! need to get a 4X4!

saw it once on Livingston. always use a parking brake and the rolling back in neutral thing mentioned on here is not a bad idea either. I wont mention names, but I had a younger guy with out a lot of experience hit the gas instead of the brake and if he had not been quick to act, I would have been the guy watching my truck sink. Accidents happen, but inexperience happens much more on the water! What you don't know CAN hurt you!

Let some air out of the tires to increase footprint next time if you need to. I have ripped through some BAD situations with 2wd, one of the worst of which would've left me stranded in a field in 35* weather dropping down tot he low 20's/teens at night in a nasty frosty muddy field. I couldn't believe I got it out of there solo... should've seen what I did to that field getting out too... looked like a monster truck rally haha
