Just think; if Bass Champs ran a solo event with a $250 entry fee they could almost double their payouts. if all the teams would show up as singles.

Ya but that wont happen if bass champs ran a solo tournament that could pay out 15k first place and give away 20 checks and keep entry fee around 200-250$ i bet it would be popular

Thanks; Payouts don't look bad. by my "quick" count it seems that some tournaments did not get as many non-boaters as boaters,,,,,,so there appears to be room for some solo action here.
and just because you fish as a "NON-BOATER" that does not mean you do not know what is going on when it comes to fishing.
I fished some ABA events...had a non-boater show up to fish Texoma and he admitted he was only fishing the tournament to find spots for a BLT tournament the next week. Yeah...I'm not going to do draw tournaments anymore.

Agree with Nutman & coolj. For this venue to grow non boaters HAVE to have access to tournaments also. I own a boat but if I can take a nonboater then I look at it as an opportunity to even have the chance to start a new friendship, learn something I didn't know teach something I do know or split expenses. Just because a man doesn't have a boat it's a guarantee he won't ever buy one if he doesn't have a chance to fish & get experience. Most times 2 heads are better than 1 to succeed. If he gets a boat & rapes my best fishing spot that's a personality problem for him. If I can't find more fish then that's a deficit in my abilities. I sometimes enjoy going as a nonboater. You'll never put together a great team if you never want another fisherman in your boat with you. It's NOT to depend on someone else's ability & expertise to succeed but having the chance to EXPAND your own friendships, abilities & experieces. And THAT is a win win scenario. Team tournaments are more fun to me. Just my opinion. God bless you ALL & tight lines with a kicker fish when you need it the most.

ABA has been a life changing experience for my son fishing as a non-boater.He started at 14 years old. We would drive him 3 hrs. to Toledo bend,he fished 8 hr. Tourn. then 3 hr. drive home. We did this every month for 3yrs. Every angler he drew welcomed him into their boat. He learned so much from each one he went with that today he is a well rounded angler. I know not all non-boaters have good reasons for doing it but if it wasn't for the ABA he would never have gotten that experience. I thank all the members of division 111 for all they have done.

Awesome. I encourage everyone to fish a few draw tournaments as a non-boater at some point in their life. Whether they think they're too good for the back of the boat or not. It gives you great perspective of how things are for the non-boaters back there. And helps grow a mutual respect for both the boater and non-boater.

The format is excellent, fun and affordable as a team event.
