Drove by the ramp today at loyd park and they still have it closed even though it is fine to launch. Courtesy dock is still not accessible but plenty of room to beach a boat. The ramp at Lynn creek marina is still under water and I'm not sure about the ones at Lynn creek park. Seems they will not open any ramps until lake drops to full pool. Not sure why but they are losing money. At the current rate that they are letting out water it will be about 2 months before they open anything back up.

I am pretty sure that lake is still completely closed to the public. Probably why the ramp isn't open even if it is usable.

Lynn Creek Marina Oasis says on their Facebook page they are aiming for Labor Day to open. The marina is open now for boat slip owners and boat club owners only.
The lake will be fine for use at about four feet. It is at 7.32 now.
I am ready to go as soon as they open. It is my favorite.

Talked to the Park Rangers. They stated that the ramps and the Park will not be opened until they have had time to inspect everything and do any required repairs. They stated it will probably be October before the Park opens and the lake will remain closed until then.
I sure hope they are wrong. The park road leading to Joe Pool Marina is completely dry now so the odds are the other park roads are dry as well since this was the first road closed by the Park.
Hopefully their get their heads out of their rear ends and allow the Park to be used sooner than that. No reason not to use the ramps even if the Park picnic and camping areas are not ready for use.

I keep hearing all the [censored] about the junk in the water being a hazard. Isn't that always the case? I mean there's always timber and logs in there. They're be a little too cautious in my opinion.

I am still not sure about the Lynn Creek Marina. WFAA says they will not be open. I sure hope they are wrong.

I am still not sure about the Lynn Creek Marina. WFAA says they will not be open. I sure hope they are wrong. From what I have been told the city controlled ramps will not be opened until August 29th, a week later than the city parks opening for use. Yes, it was the Cedar Hill State Park Rangers. Hopefully they will get their heads out of their behinds and open the ramps at the State Park when the other ramps on the lake opens. I would be surprised if the manager at Lynn Creek Marina did not open their ramps as soon as the city opens its ramps, assuming the water is low enough to use their ramps. They are not happy about the amount of money they are losing by the water not being lowered faster so they can get their restaurant and fishing barge open again. The State Park will just be losing the money they would earn from people using the ramps to launch their boats at the State Park now that the water is low enough to use the ramps. People will just drive to the city parks or Lynn Creek Marina to launch if the State Park won't allow them to launch. So the number of people on the lake will increase whether they allow the State Park launches to be used or not. They could open the State Park in stages, allowing the ramps to be used first, then the trailer camping grounds to be used since I doubt any of them were under water and then finally the picnic areas to be used as they finish checking them.
