These trees are in or adjacent to the lake itself. Doesn't seem rainfall would be the issue as they have plenty of water from the lake - which has been full to a few feet high since April. I read that the browning indicates stress of some sort...perhaps bag worms or some other insect or disease. Sure hope not. Caddo is incredibly beautiful and has had its share of natural battles in recent years. Deserves a break.

It's definitely not due to lack of water... We had more than enough water in late spring which was when I first noticed it. Hope it's only a temporary issue because that is a lot of trees.

Both of these sites say the name "bald" cypress comes from the fact they shed so early in the fall. Days are getting shorter, fall is coming. Gotta turn brown before they fall.
