I think a seriously underused bait is the craw-tube category... LFT has one, there is another I can't recall the name of that is very nice... they are supple larger profile baits, collapse easily, can be internally weighted and fished like any other tube but with a grew legitimate craw/creature profile etc... very cool stuff imo Pretty bummed the RI is discontinuing the Boom Boom Tubes. Not a craw tube but a great bait.

They are getting hard to find now.

Usually if its not a craw, worm or lizard then it goes in the creature category for me. Normally baits that don't really resemble a particular forage. Just reading through the post I noticed someone referred to a Rage Craw as a creature. To each his own if they do. Just thought it interesting. Craw, worm, lizard, ringed bait, tube, then it goes in the creature category for me. LOL I have too much tackle.

Baby Fork Creatures are my favorite. I like the watermelon red with the feet dipped in Spike It.

JMO but recently I bought some Biffle Bugs....then after reading all the positive comments about the Pit Boss I bought some of them. Now, having both to compare, I find very little difference. So IMO this comes down to the popularity of Skeet Reese over the grouchy Tommy Biffle.

$0.37 per pit boss vs. $0.62 per baffle bug.... and I just don't like the baffle bugs as much or catch on them quite the same. Slow fished, full bottom contact, they catch about the same... lighter weight and lines, the pit boss pulls more bites on the fall. Otherwise yes, as with most beaver stile baits, you will find they are fairly similar, just like most worms, etc. haha
You definitely won't find me paying almost double for a bait I like less though! Plus I love supporting Berkley because they just put out lots of nice products in general imo
edit: they also have awesome trailer only pit bosses that are more durable that is fantastic for jig fishing and other trailer applications instead of the softer full bait, which I love.

I stand corrected. I just confirmed your math and indeed not only did I pay too much for the Biffle Bug but after receiving the Pit Boss I also slightly preferred the design... although I like it that the Bug floats...but for the price difference I'll stay with the Pit Boss.
Now if I could only break this terribly long streak of getting skunked on these west Tx lakes I might even have some evidence of which one will produce best.

I like the Netbait beaver style bait better than the Biffle bug also.

Pit boss may not float but just try pitching one into openings/pockets in grass weightless, or along weedlines or docks... forget a senko! they flutter and glide so perfectly. That's the number 1 qualifier for me for baits like that is how they fall/glide really, and how they sit when they stop. The pit boss just nails it for me on every mark. I really love the design of the hook keeper as well, and they fit a 4/0 so perfect it isn't even funny. Fishs o much as swat at it and they are pinned. I even catch bluegills/random sunfish that swat at it, and some crappie, because if they touch the body at all, they are hooked. Only chance they have is ripping off an appendage. Luckily they fish almost as well with 1-2 arms ripped off, because they get wrecked from all the attention haha. I never get on the boat with less than 3 bags of my preferred colors, because when they are on them I will burn through a lot! Love how reasonably priced they are.

+1 on the Pitboss, but brush hogs are also high on the list.

You are using the pit boss, not the pit chunk right?

I use both. Pit chunk for trailers, pit boss for normal soft plastic bait duty... t-rig mostly.

Zoom. I've had more success with hogs when the cover is deeper, especially grass, or in grass/algae that doesn't have a smooth edge line like when algae is splotchy. I fish ponds and creeks so deep for me in this situation is 5+ feet.
