V&M baby swamp hog is what I would consider the best. Zoom is a good bait too and I use it a lot as well.

Kinky Beaver I've been having good success with these lately.

Start with the brush hog or baby brush hog (widely available at Wmart/Academy) Very versatile. Excellent on crig, trig, split shot, shaky head, drop shot (baby), as a trailer, even wacky rigged.
watermelon red is a popular color
I'd start fishing them however you are most comfortable fishing a worm.

I use the KVD Strike King "RAGE CRAW" I never catch anything with it but they look cool. I use them too, but with different results. Haha. I have around 30 packs. I use them t rigged, and also take them down about an inch for jig trailers. I can't catch fish on a jig without em. I guess the claws compliment my poor technique. Haha. They also work ok for punching the duck weed mats right now. 1ounce tungsten pegged with a rage in a flipping hook.

Baby Brush Hog (I've never used the full sized one and catch a lot of four and five pounders on the baby version, which I think is around five inches long). I Texas rig it, and drag it or hop it, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, depending on conditions. I've caught them in grass, rip rap, rock, open water. Great bait.
I haven't tried I, but I've heard using them on a shaky head is awesome.
