Don't you mean minnow trap? Perch traps are illegal in fresh water in Texas.

You can find instructions on youtube on how to make
one .the material to build 2 is cheaper than buying one
edited to add, if you build one be sure to follow Texas laws on how big the openings can be.

Don't you mean minnow trap? Perch traps are illegal in fresh water in Texas. Because in the tpwd regulations the term "perch trap" refers to saltwater piggy perch traps. We say perch and mean sunfish, which are legal to trap in fresh water. Academy has some. The better quality ones are online, seen some on eBay. Stay within the 1"x3" regulation for the opening wherever you find one.

I make/sell some. I even delivered one up near Eagle Mountain Lake. Guy needed it pretty quick and I wanted to pick something up from APT.
