I live in Kingsville and my boathas been acting up lately. It is tough to start cold. Once started it will putter and sometimes die at an idle. While running it runs fine but if I let the RPM's get to an idle it will most of the time die, sometimes catching it self and revving back up. I am looking for someone in Corpus Christi that can look at it get it back to running great, without breaking the pocket book. If anyone knows what my problem may be, or has some good opinion's of someone to work on it I will appreciate it. I also posted this in the boat repairs section. Thanks guys.

If it has a carb on it pull it off and clean it. If not you can try D&J marine. Dennis, the mechanic, has worked on my boat in the past and always gotten in working for a good bit less than Gulf Coast Marine could. I tell you now that I did have an issue with him before however. He replaced piston and motor mount on my johnson and the used motor mount that he said was alot better than the one I had is actually worse. That is about all that I can say about him on the bad end. I paid $500 for the piston change which did include a used head in better condition than the one I had. I don't have his number but he information has his number. Other than that there is Ronnie's Marine here in Corpus also. Both are on the south side, D&J is all the way in Flour Bluff.
