Thanks! Almost in your backyard! The Hill Country and the Great Southwest are simply Awesome! You are a very lucky man to live there. yes I am truly blessed! I grew up fishing the Sabinal and in all my years I have walked and fished from the 127 crossing north of Sabinal to where it flows into the Frio on 187 south. That's about 20 or so miles

Looks like a very nice place to fish and relax. Looks a lot like the Cypress Creek. Got to love those clear water fishing holes. Also Congratulations on yet another record Sunfish!
Side Note: How many records?

Congrats Banker. Know it was fun catching that big Redbreast on your UL rod, as well as setting a record. The picture of the river is truly beautiful.

Awesome pictures and a nice fat Redbreast. Good job Chuck and Congratulations on yet another record fish. Side Note: Had a chance to fish the Sabinal a couple of times this summer. That is one beautiful river. Lots of crystal clear water. Saw some huge Channel Cats, and some pretty nice Bass. Saw a post of yours last winter when you and "USMC-GY" fished the river for trout. Going to make it there for next years stocking and will have my fly rod.

Thanks Curtis for the reply! Love fishing the Sabinal Valley. Lots of beautiful scenery and time seems to just stand still for awhile as you are fishing. As for the trout stocking me and Mike had the river all to ourselves on the stocking day. Had a blast. We limited out but really had to work for em. Thick grass beds made it a little difficult. The trout stocking dates are usually released by TPW in October. Side Note. Did you fish the river with your Kayak? If so did you go west towards Leaky or east towards Hwy 90? How was the river further up or down?

We went east. Take out points are very far apart. Did not go down that far. Paddled back to our truck. Talked with a man who lives in Sabinal and he said there is good water from Utopia to Sabinal. I just might give it that a try sometime soon.
Side Note: Did that trout stocking occur early or late winter?
