In some areas there are some bass. Since the flooding they marked it as no-fishing as a sewer line broke and poured into Lake Carolyn and the canals. Not sure if it's OK yet to fish.

So? You dont eat the fish anyways do you? I thought that area is all catch and release?

I have never fished in those canals.
Although I work in the area and have seen people.
What kind of fish do you catch there and is there a specific spot thats better?
Where is the sewage leaking?

Teleport and riverside is closest cross streets. city is trucking in dirt to try to create a dam to stop the flow of sewage from going into the trinity from the canal. Three sewer main breaks along that section one close to 114 next in the middle and last close to teleport and riverside.

I've worked in Las Colinas for over 2 years and have fished many of the Canals especially MacArthur and Riverside areas and there are plenty of Bass in most. I keep it simple as I find a properly rigged 5" Senko is irresistible to Micropterus salmoides no matter where he lives or swims. Good Luck

That just sounds nasty, I have always wondered about the cleanliness of the waters around 114, royal, macarthur etc, only fished an area in royal once caught couple of dinks and left them alone.
If it's legal ain't no way in hell it's catch and release, it's CATCH & GREASE, except ROUGH (TRASH) Fish

Can a person legally fish in Lake Carolyn? I thought that area was private property.

You can fish the canals, but not at the actual lake. Even the canals that run through where the hotels are can get dicey. I don't fish around there at all because the business will run you off. I know some guys fish down there at night after the business close with no issues. Not sure how much damage the sewage did to the fishing. I fish a few other places in Las Colinas but this heat has made it very difficult to catch anything lately.
