Try Waddell's at Fayette County......I believe they originate in Arkansas.

Good Luck

about 3 months ago, they had one at the Lynn Creek Marina on Joe Pool lake. That thing was lively to, kickin and swimming all over the place. But as much as she kicked there where no takers. I guess them bass didn't like my 85 pound long haired water dog. Bad thing is, trying to get that water dog back in the boat, dang, i'm still sore.

I bought some of those one time, back in like 1986... took them to Fork with the HIGHEST of expectations of catching behemoth mossbacked black bass.
The one I did hook and put out in the water, kept walking back to the boat.
they became pets in my livewell... kids started feeding them dog food and cerial..
actually had to put a brick in ther so they have something to get up on and chill. Just didnt have it in me to use them again. Finally wound up turnin them loose at the trinity, near the ft worth zoo... (c:

I've found a black or junebug colored zoom lizard works just as good sometimes.

You will have a hard time finding them this time of year. I grew up in the Texas Panhandle and waterdogs become available during the summer and fall months - when water is available in ponds and playas. We always seined them and sold to local bait shops in order to make our summer family vacation money.

Several places in Austin usually have them. Try Ace Tackle on West Palmer and Hog Eye bait on Blue Bluff Rd.
