If you're using hooks with a smaller eye and running the rattle against the hook make sure you use a bead.
Several teams have won 1st and 2nd place at some big tournaments in the past six weeks and the anglers said the rattles are what made the difference.
Have fun with them and don't be afraid to experiment!

What is the difference between these and other types of rattles? Other than the fact that they are more expensive.

I haven't used the Whisker Seeker rattles, but I've used saltwater popping corks and those rattles that you use with football jigs on my leaders and had some success with them. It basically adds the element of sound to the whole rig, and fish come in to investigate.

Check out this article and video. Should answer all of your questions and then some. http://www.catfishedge.com/versa-rattle/I should have the video on rigging options and some other tips in the next couple of weeks. Still trying to play catch up from iCast.

Bet it would work Good for Live Bait chasin Flatty's. Could also throw some kind of Scent on it to Call in The Kitty's.

I personally, believe that sound is an important factor to predatory fish. For instance, at the coast I will free line live Croaker/Piggie Perch for Trout/Redfish/Flounder. Free lining them with a rattle weight vs a straight line, the rattle weight wins hands down. If you're in a frenzy of aggressively feeding fish, it probably won't matter. If you need that extra little bit to convince them, it would probably be beneficial; but in the case of Catfishing, you're looking at a slow day of fishing anyway. If you're catching 100 Catfish in a day, no its probably not going to make a big difference. I can see them being productive in catching Flatheads.
