Why is lake Tyler so tough right now? Anyone have a reasoning?

It's tough because TPWD killed the grass

Yeah knew the grass was killed but it's even hard to find them in schools and when you do they won't bite chit

11 lbs won our club tourney today. 3 lber won big bass. One limit out of nine boats. We had 1 fish. Best part is I don't have to visit that pos again until next summer. Docks? No. Structure? No. Schooling? Won't bite anything. Even a little Mepps spinner. I know some decent bags are weighed in on Friday nighters but that lake is pathetic right now. Saw a guy this morning at the gas station, he asked where we were going. When he found out it was Tyler, he shook his said with pity. I know some people are always on em there but dang it's tough.

Frustrating

You have to spend a lot of time on Tyler to be competitive out there. I like to fish a lot of different lakes too much to do that. I'm not sure why there are so many tournaments held on Tyler. I guess it's because it's a 14 inch lake beside the biggest city in East Texas.

It would be easier for the casual fisherman if there was still grass, that's for sure.
