With all the boat storage places on Lake Fork...they chose that one for a reason. I would move my boat out of there yesterday.
The TFF never disappoints, always entertaining.

I am so disappointed...... I check this thread every day to see if there is a report that they caught the sorry bums and see that so far, they got away with it. I will keep checking back. Maybe someone will spill the beans on them. Thieves like to brag.

Basscat that sucks and I'm sorry for your loss. It's bad that you lost items that carry memories. I hope they catch them.

I have mixed feelings about the bar now, the rod lockers were not locked nor was the tackle storage, had they been I can just imagine the damage to the boat they would have done with the crowbar or whatever they used to pry to bar off with. We have taken measure for sure, alarms in place etc. Had there been no bar I would not have had $2400 in damage to the fiberglass. Thanks for your past. Rods and reels can be replaced but I have they damage the my Basscat! Now if I were outside a hotel or traveling I would not go without the Loc-R-Bar.

Been there myself... When I lived in Arlington back in early 2000's, I got news that my father was in cardiac arrest and in the hospital while I was fishing, I parked my old boat in the drive way and hurried to the hospital. He passed away and it was a couple days before I put the boat back into the backyard. Damn thieves broke into the boat and cleaned me out of rod/reel and tackle. You feel like you've been raped!

Sorry for you loss. This is the first time I have seen documented proof of a loc-r-bar being tore out. I have one along with an alarm. I hope they catch the thief and he gets his just reward. +1 buy the motion sensor lock (motorcycle lock) ...maybe it would not help in an enclosed storage unit but it will make a difference in public http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/...2282537281.html

I'll prolly never do the boat storage thing for this reason. I will keep my rig in my shop or garage both alarmed.....I have a yellow lab that stays indoors as well; she is a light sleeper and will wake me up barking if she hears anything unusual outside at night........

If we'd over-rule our Lawyer-favoring system and lock up dope dealers for life, this problem would eventually get much better.
Sorry for your loss in the America of today.

Sorry for the loss. I use a Lock-R-Bar,, but I have etched my name and TX driver's license # on every reel I own, and if there is metal on the rod someplace I do it there as well. Have also done the backs of my Lowrance graph/gps units and top and bottom of my trolling motor. I've also etched anything else that I can that I carry in the boat and truck and much of what I carry tool wise as well. I am also thinking of a Lock-R-Bar for over both the battery areas and gas tank. Also have a lock device on the trailer hitch area and on the stainless steel prop. Too many thieving a-holes out there. I may not stop them, but I'll slow them down, and maybe make it harder for them to fence my gear. Also photographed it all. Haven't figured out how to etch tackle, but photographs are the only thing I can think of to do for the tackle.

With all the boat storage places on Lake Fork...they chose that one for a reason. I would move my boat out of there yesterday. i don't think it was the place but more it is someone that knows him and what was in the boat there are to many boats around that are way easier to get in than that one with the lock bar on it for someone to take a chance getting busted because of how long it would take to get in it and not knowing if there was even anything it the boat just my 2 cents ps hope you do get them and your stuff back
