I did a few searches and can't seem to find it. Which ram mount is compatible? I saw the D but seemed too large..

Depending on the unit size, anything above an 8, needs the "D" mount. 5's and 7's can get by with the 1.5" ball

I believe it is the D-111U-C. I'm at the lake this weekend and will check when I get home Sun night.

This would be the correct one: Ram mount I also tap the holes to 1/4 - 20 and use bolts with blue locktite to attach gimble to Ram.

Well my brother bought me a Ram D mount and only 2 bolts will line up.... Is this usual?

It is normal. Simply use a larger drill bit and drill the gimbal mount for the unit then you will be able to finish the process of bolting it to the RamMount.
