Hey yall, I'll be headed out to lake o the pines next weekend and I'm just curious what the lake is like. How do you run it due to stumps? Is the bass fishing pretty good? I have so many questions about it, I have never been on the lake I haven't even seen the lake before. I would just like some tips and help on the lake from guys with experience on it. Thanks!!

Is it even open? I wouldn't expect much of anything real patternable givne current water fluctuations in all of northeast Texas buddy... Maybe you'll get lucky though and a guide will chime in or something handy.
It's a beautiful lake though, miss it from my childhood in Longview. It was my first lake and holds my fondest memories. I remember planning a trip to fork for about a year and a half for my birthday and being incredibly disappointed with thw reservoir compared to my Lake O' the Pines haha

If you are a shallow water fisherman, find the flooded willow bushes and punch into the heart of them with a heavy weight. There's usually a bass in almost every one.

I believe the lake is still high enough you can run anywhere you want but I know the gates have been open for a week or so. The south end is clear to run and there is a boat road on the north end of the lake

North of Hwy155 boatlane has dual poles. Other sections have single poles. Poles have trianglar arrow pointing toward side to run on. Lanes are narrow. Lance Vick sells a Lake o the Pines Boatlane chip or download. www.boatlanes.comIMO: Bite is difficult when gates are open.
